Spring is in the air at Clayoquot Wilderness Resort. However, that does not mean the birds and the
bees for us. Typically, around April 1st
preparation for the upcoming season begins.
The Resort is
located 18 nautical miles north of Tofino, therefore, it comes as no surprise
that our boats get a lot of wear and tear during the year. Chuck, our head fishing guide, has become
quite the expert on sanding, painting and detailing the boats. Chuck says he would rather be fishing but
he
does a great job nonetheless.
Courtney, our resident mechanic, keeps our vehicles (and everything else with a motor) maintained year round. Though, it is especially important to have all the trucks in tip top shape for the season preparation. Which is, of course, our busiest time of year.
This is simply a glimpse at our season preparation. As April progresses, you will see how much work goes into opening up the Wilderness Resort.
Chuck looks like he is almost ready to start on the Phantom
